Our Lady, of Fátima

On the thirteenth day of May, in the year of grace 1917, the Most Blessed Virgin Mary appeared upon a humble holm-oak in the Cova da Iria to three shepherd children — Lúcia, Francisco, and Jacinta — and entrusted to them a message of prayer, penance, and devotion to her Immaculate Heart.

“Pray the Rosary every day, in order to obtain peace for the world…”

One hundred and nine years thence, the faithful of Sitio Kabulihan gather once more upon the highland breeze of Guba to render unto the Mother of God our songs, our flowers, and our most ardent thanksgiving.

With profound joy and devotion, the Dionson Family, together with the faithful of Sitio Kabulihan, Barangay Guba, Cebu City, most cordially request the honour of your presence at the Solemn Feast Day in celebration of our Most Heavenly Patroness, Our Lady of Fátima.

The bells of our humble chapel shall toll at the hour of high noon, and the candles shall be lit, the banderitas raised, and the table prepared for the breaking of bread among neighbours and friends. Come bearing your devotion — a flower, a song, a prayer — and partake of the simple feast that follows the Holy Mass.

“Beloved children, ascend the hill — Mary awaits among the mango trees.”

May your road be safe, your hearts be glad, and may the Mother of our Most Blessed Lord smile upon you and yours, on this day and forevermore.

Dawn procession of banners through the sitio, accompanied by the village brass band — the raising of the festive flags upon every bamboo pole.

Salo-salo · Communal Feast
The breaking of bread under the canopy of mango trees — lechon, humba, pancit, and the sweets of every kitchen of Kabulihan, shared freely among all who come.

Solemn Procession
The carroza bearing the venerated image of Our Lady, escorted by the children of the catechism, the choir, and the faithful — bearing flowers, candles, and the Holy Rosary.

The Solemn Feast Day Mass at the Chapel of Our Lady of Fatima, with the Most Reverend Parish Priest of San Antonio de Padua, Guba — followed by the consecration of our sitio to the Immaculate Heart.
